Both receivers work well when it comes to sound. In addition, they employ upmixing technology such as DTS Neural: X, which allows you to turn legacy content new again. Audiophiles will love what both offer, but there’s one clear answer when it comes to these receivers.
And that would be with the X4800H, which delivers 20 more watts than its predecessor. This may not seem much of a difference, but when you have the most demanding setups, the X3800H won’t let you reach its full potential. Meanwhile, the X4800H lets you employ more powerful setups.

The X4800H has more inputs compared to its predecessor. First, it has seven HDMI 2.1 inputs, one more than the X3800H. It also comes with 2 RCA composites and one 3RCA component, lacking in the X3800H. Sadly, neither has a front HDMI input, which can make it a hassle if you need a quick and dirty connection.
As for outputs, the X4800H has a Stereo RCA Zone 3 Pre-Out, lacking in the X3800H.
